GLIDDEN WORKSHOPS

JENNIFER GLIDDEN, (Executive Director of Glidden Workshops) is a classically-trained singer and has been teaching and directing since 2004.  Ms. Glidden held her first musical theater workshop in 2006 and as been bring the Wonderful World of the Theatrical Arts to students ever since. Currently, Glidden Workshops is active in theDallas and Chicago metroplex. Ms. Glidden is dedicated to teaching young people about the art of singing, acting, and dance, and hopes that each student leaves each workshop with new skills, more knowledge, and a family of friends. 

When she is not conducting workshops, Ms. Glidden teaches vocal techniques to students of all ages. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Southern Methodist University and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the Cincinnati College -Conservatory of Music. This past fall, she began work on her Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of North Texas with minors in Stage Directing and Vocal Pedagogy.  In addition, she joined the voice faculty at the University of North Texas as a Teaching Fellow. Ms. Glidden's students participate in a variety of activities including Regional and All-State Solo and Ensemble, All-Region Choir, All-state Choir, School Groups, (i.e. pop groups, chamber choirs, school talent shows, school musicals, etc.) community theater productions, recitals, and competitions.  For the past two years, she has had several of her students advance to the national round of the ACTS Competition and have had several students advance to the first semi-final round in the Classical Singer High School Competition traveling to New York City, Chicago, and San Fransico, to compete with the top 200 vocalists throughout the USA. Many of her former High School Seniors have received full to partial vocal scholarship to university programs across the United States.

Ms. Glidden is also an active performer and recitalist. She recently was a finalist in the 2007 Southwest Regional Division Metropolitan Opera Competition.  She currently performs throughout the Dallas metroplex and has been seen in a variety of roles such as Mrs. Murrant in Street Scene, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Mrs. Gobineau, in The Medium, and many more. This past summer, she was a featured soloist on the 2007 HPUMC France Tour under the director of David Davidson. Ms. Glidden has sung with a variety of groups including, Opera Festival of Lucca, Italy, Cincinnati Philharmonic Orchestra, Cincinnati Vocal Arts Ensemble, and Lyric Opera of Chicago.
